What We Do:
The goal of the CGNA is significant, impactful involvement in all aspects of life in our community, including long-range, big-picture policy planning as well as the day to day concerns of residents:
-
Regularly scheduled public hearings address new development and renovations that require zoning changes, variances, and code changes that could negatively impact the area.
-
Community interests are championed by working with the two Ward Alderman (1st and 26th) whose constituents live within the bounds of the CGNA, as well as speaking with a unified voice to the various City of Chicago building and zoning commissions and boards.
-
Social events are organized to allow neighbors to meet, greet and just have fun.
-
The City’s Clean and Green weekends are organized, promoted, and coordinated with the Streets and Sanitation Department and each block group representative.
-
A community network focuses on neighborhood happenings including new development and ordinance changes and community concerns such as street repairs, traffic issues and more.
