Mission
The mission of the CGNA is to provide a forum that will allow residents to voice their opinions on issues that impact the quality of life in our neighborhood.
Are We Effective?
Our consistent participation in the public eye, the process of dialogue with and involvement of the appropriate city officials and dedication to forging a closer, more tightly knit community has proven very successful. Those directly affecting quality of life in our neighborhood include:
Negotiating with developers intent to build a large condo
complex on the corner of Erie and Wood streets. The result,
five single family homes in keeping with the character of the
community. The result of less density leads to improved
property values and reduced congestion and refuse.
• Sponsoring over a dozen public hearings in the last 24 months
to ensure a loud, clear, unified community voice with regard
to zoning change requests.
• Forming a strong alliance with Alderman Joe Moreno,
1st Ward, resulting in ongoing communication and action-
oriented dialogue regarding our neighborhood.
• Organizing bi-monthly membership meetings to discuss community issues.
• Establishing a Planning & Development Committee to act as a
neighborhood liaison that ensures developers adherence to
city codes and zoning.
